Pancakes and honey

When I’m riding on my scooter,

the air is as fresh as fruit.

The trees sway from wind and air.

I can hear people talking about how their day is,

and people saying, “Today’s the day.”

The people’s talking is as loud as a lion’s roar.

I can hear the bumps on the road

while the scooter goes.

Cars honking.

People drive safely,

but sometimes they are talking

and not paying attention to the road.

I can still taste the pancakes in my mouth

that taste as sweet as honey from the house.

I’m ready for school.

I feel like I’m a hard-working bee.
