Gender stereotypes

One day after school I was talking about going to taekwondo class and someone came up to me said, “You’re a nerd and you’re a girl. Nerds don’t do taekwondo let alone girls.” And they have a point. Ninety percent of taekwondo tournaments are boys. That remaining ten percent are all girls. But eighty-five percent of those girls are color belts and never make it to black belt. Ten percent quit after getting their first-degree black belt. And the remaining five percent are girls who keep going no matter what.

To this day people still don’t believe I do taekwondo but I don’t care. It’s just best to ignore any and all stereotypes.
