High Seas: 826 Valencia gets its own Dandelion Chocolate bar

High Seas: 826 Valencia gets its own Dandelion Chocolate bar826 Valencia and Dandelion Chocolate are thrilled to announce High Seas: a special, limited batch of sea salt-speckled chocolate bars inspired by our Choc-full ‘O Chocolate workshop held this past summer. Taught by Alice Nystrom and Chiann Tsui of Dandelion Chocolate, Choc-full ‘O Chocolate students here at 826 Valencia got the chance to learn all about this delicious treat, including how and what it’s made of. Drawing inspiration from the chocolate itself, students crafted short stories, poems, comics, and illustrations, which we’ve lovingly printed and bound to be sold alongside our exciting confection.

Since we are likely to delve into these delectables with vicious abandon, we’ve decided to let Dandelion hold onto the stuff. Meaning, when you purchase the chapbook here, you will receive a ticket to claim your bar at Dandelion Chocolate just down the street.

If you’d like to get your hands on the High Seas bar and some inspired student writing this holiday season, stop by the Pirate Supply Store or Dandelion Chocolate’ s new Valencia Street factory opening on November 14 at 740 Valencia Street.

About Dandelion Chocolate

Dandelion Chocolate is a bean-to-bar chocolate factory opening in the Mission District of San Francisco later this year. We are opening our workshop out of a lifetime love of chocolate. We roast, crack, sort, winnow, grind, conch, and temper small batches of beans and then hand mold, package, and sign each bar. By sourcing high-quality beans and carefully crafting tiny batches, we bring out the individual flavors and nuances of each bean. Our 740 Valencia Street space will be the primary production site for our award-winning, single-origin, dark chocolate bars. The cafe, opening at the front of the factory in the next few weeks, will offer hot chocolate and pastries that can be enjoyed while watching our hardworking chocolate makers take the cocoa from the bean to your bar. Until the cafe opening, the factory will be open to the public Wednesday through Friday from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm, and Saturdays from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm.
