Poetry Hunters: Finding Poems Where You Never Thought to Look

Jul 24,2017, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ 826 Valencia St.
Taught by Dana Belott and Kiley McLaughlin
Open to 12 students, ages 8–11
A two-week workshop
July 24–31
Mondays, 6–8 p.m.

If you know how to look, you can find poetry anywhere! It’s hiding in your junk mail, in the news, on your best friend’s Twitter, in your favorite song, in that book your aunt gave you for your birthday that you never opened—it’s even in your science homework. In this workshop, we will collect text and sounds from unexpected corners of our lives, and then cut up, erase, translate, mutate, and piece them together into a collection of strange and wonderful poems. Join us!
