Move Your Story into the World (CLASS FULL – WAIT LIST ONLY)

Oct 8,2016, 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM @ 826 Valencia (Mission Center for first 4 sessions, Tenderloin Center for final session)
Move Your Story into the World Taught by Liss Fain Dance Open to 12 students, ages 10-14 A five-week workshop October 8-November 5 Saturdays, 12-2 p.m. Do you have a personal story about a time or event in your life when you stopped in your tracks and changed the way you thought or behaved? How do you express this so it means as much to other people as it does to you? In this 4-session series, you will work with the choreographer and dancers of Liss Fain Dance to write your story and create movement to animate it. Throughout the month, Liss Fain Dance will weave your stories and movements into a dance piece during their own rehearsals. You will join the company to share your work in a work-in-progress performance at 826 Valencia’s Tenderloin Center. The stories and movement created during these sessions will become part of a new, evening-length dance piece that Liss Fain Dance will develop and perform in spring 2017. This storytelling and dance project is being created in partnership with 826 Valencia and The Redwoods, a senior community in Mill Valley. All participating students and their parents will be invited to be the company’s guests at the performances at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. To enroll for this workshop fill out the following Google Form: You will get an email to confirm your place in the workshop within 48 hours.
